In this project, my collaborators and I examined leadership development in East and South Asian business students. East and South Asians are the two largest visible minority groups in North America and yet there is substanial diferences in how they are viewed as leaders. For example, even after controlling for education and work motivation, South Asians are in more leadership positions than East Asians. Here, we looked at why this may occur by focusing on leadership factors in young business students that will evenutally be part of the workforce. This work was presented at the Society of Industrial/Organization Psychology.
